The new Bronco is here, learn more
The Ford Escape is created to fit an on-the-go lifestyle, from its versatile seating and cargo combinations to its performance. Its new modern look and available sport package makes the 2019 Ford Escape the choice for your everyday adventure.
The Ford Escape also makes for a great family vehicle because of their safety and reliability. The car enhances views of the road, has ample seating and storage, safety features, and improved family driving experiences. It’s exceptional for daily errands and provides more comfort for long road trips. They combine power, size, and safety to offer convenience for the whole family.
Many car-shoppers will look for an SUV with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) features. Cameras, sensors, and safety tech can help you feel safer while driving your family. Back up cameras can help you see what is behind you, and surround view video lets you see what’s everything around the vehicle, making parking easier. Alert systems like a blind spot warning will notify you when there’s a car in either blind spot. This feature uses radar to identify a vehicle detected in your blind spot and alerts you with an indicator light in the appropriate exterior mirror.
SUVs are the perfect vehicle companion for camping, road trips, and family vacations. Escape was designed to make your everyday treks easy, featuring a host of smart offerings like available Intelligent Access with push-button start. Want to carry lots of cargo? No problem. The rear seats fold to provide up to 68 cu. ft. of cargo capacity. Accessing the rear of the vehicle is also a breeze, thanks to an available hands-free, foot-activated liftgate. Escape even provides a little help when backing up, thanks to the standard rearview camera and available Reverse Sensing System.
Transporting a ton of cargo requires an SUV with ample storage space, and if you want to be able to tow a camping trailer to the lake on weekends, you’ll need an SUV with some hauling power. The available 2.0L EcoBoost Class II Trailer Tow Package on the Escape Titanium provides a maximum tow rating of up to 3,500 lbs.
While many SUVs will offer one or two choices for engines, The Ford Escape provides three. Engine options include a 2.5L I-4 with intake variable cam design, a 1.5L turbocharged EcoBoost® engine or a 2.0L twin-scroll EcoBoost rated at 245 horsepower. Handling control comes courtesy of standard AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control,™ Curve Control, and Torque Vectoring Control.
Curve Control can sense if you’re going too fast and slow the vehicle down using throttle reduction and anti-lock braking. Once you’re into the curve, G-forces tend to transfer more traction to the outside tires than to the inside ones. Torque Vectoring Control enhances this traction by transferring torque to the wheels that have the most grip, reducing understeer and forcing the front end to hug the inside of the curve.
Escape offers a host of features that enhance your comfort and convenience. There’s the available panoramic Vista Roof® that extends more natural light to all occupants. The available heated steering wheel keeps your hands warm on the coldest days. Available SiriusXM Satellite Radio and Navigation with SiriusXM Traffic with Travel Link® provides a variety of entertainment choices and includes more than 150 channels of commercial-free music, plus live sports, news and entertainment, in addition to navigation and traffic alerts. The Global Positioning System (GPS) is combined with 3-D mapping and provides voice-guided directions. Get detailed traffic information, plus current and forecast weather, gas station locations and prices, sports scores and schedules, and movie theater locations with show listings and times.
Bi-xenon HID Headlamps
Available bi-xenon HID (high-intensity discharge) headlamps provide a brighter light, last longer and use less energy than conventional bulbs. HID lighting along with signature light-emitting diodes (LEDs) is standard on Escape Titanium. LED lighting is standard on the SEL model.
Intelligent 4WD System
The available Intelligent 4WD System continuously monitors traction and road conditions every 16 milliseconds. It can transfer torque from front wheels to rear wheels as needed to ensure a precise blend of handling and traction at all times.
Ford Safe and Smart™
The Ford Safe and Smart™ Package includes adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning with brake support. You can select the speed and distance you want to maintain from the vehicle in front of you. When traffic ahead slows down, your vehicle automatically slows down, and later resumes the preset speed when traffic clears.
